Worcestershire Regulatory Services

In June 2010, seven Local Authorities in Worcestershire set up a Joint Committee under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972, comprising Members of the Authorities, to oversee the delivery of regulatory services across the County on their behalf, by a single body called “Worcestershire Regulatory Services” (WRS.) Between April and June 2016, Worcestershire County Council chanIged its relationship with the partnership, initially by moving from a partner to a customer of WRS, and then by taking back control of its functions to discharge them directly. Hence WRS no longer delivers Trading Standards and Animal Health functions for this authority. WRS continues to deliver Environmental Health functions, including Food Safety, Health and Safety, many aspects of Pollution Control, and Licensing administration on behalf of Bromsgrove District Council, Malvern Hills District Council, Redditch Borough Council, Worcester City Council, Wychavon District Council and Wyre Forest District Council.
