Alvechurch Community Larder

We are a Community Larder based in Alvechurch, (but supporting the whole of Alvechurch Parish), whose primary purpose is to reduce food waste and educate people to support us by doing the same. We open twice a week, are supported by a great team of about 50 volunteers and are based in the Baptist Church. We issue food to approximately 60 people per week but have worked with over 300 families in the village including many who are struggling with the cost of living. We also signpost those who are struggling to other organisations who are able to offer help. Our next aim is to support those who are unable to come to us and to this aim we are working with other community groups and official organisations to identify those who need support to access our service. We receive food donations from Fareshare and Foodiverse, (via Asda and Tesco), as well as some local businesses. We are happy to speak to anyone who may be able to support us.
